Adil Haider

Adil Haider is an American trauma surgeon, public health researcher, and medical entrepreneur, currently serving as Dean of Aga Khan University Medical College, Pakistan. Previously, he spent over a decade at Johns Hopkins as Director of the Center for Surgical Trials and Outcomes Research. He later joined Harvard as the Kessler Director of the Center for Surgery and Public Health, a joint program of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Recognized for founding the field of Surgical Disparities research, Dr. Haider has developed innovative methodologies for studying surgical outcomes. A recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2017, he became Dean of AKUMC in 2019, elevating it to the top 100 global medical institutions. He has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications and secured over $20 million in research funding.
