Description

Integrated Modelling of Agrivoltaic Systems provides an overview of approaches to model, simulate, and optimize agrivoltaics systems, integrating modelling of PV systems, shading, microclimate, and crop yield, and enabling the reader to navigate this highly inter-disciplinary area in order to meet their requirements and the needs of current and future policies. The book provides tools to build models that allow the assessment before installation of the energy, crop, and water performances of agrivoltaics systems, considers economic aspects, and introduces other key topics such as finding suitable areas for the deployment of agrivoltaic systems and assessment of the environmental impact compared to conventional PV systems and agriculture. This is a valuable resource for all those with an interest in agrivoltaic systems and their modelling, simulation, design, optimization, and development, including researchers, graduate students, faculty, engineers, R&D, developers, and other professionals.

Key features

  • Explains how integrated modelling of agrivoltaic systems should be carried out and which key aspects need to be considered
  • Offers a set of models, approaches for interconnecting those models, and codes to allow the reader to build integrated/holistic models
  • Introduces the reader to agrivoltaic system optimization and considers economic profitability
  • Includes guidance on how to find suitable areas for the implementation of agrivoltaics systems and environmental impact assessment
