Samuel Carda-Broch

Samuel Carda-Broch was born in Villarreal (Castelló, Spain). He obtained his PhD from the University of Valencia in 1999 under the direction of Prof. García-Álvarez-Coque. After working in the pharmaceutical industry (Italfármaco, Madrid, Spain), in 2001 he moved to the Laboratoire des Sciences Analytiques at the University Claude Bernard in Lyon (France) for a post-doctorate stay under the supervision of Dr. Alain Berthod, granted by a Marie Curie fellowship. In 2002, he moved to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Iowa State University (USA), together with Prof. Alain Berthod to work with Prof. Daniel Armstrong. He has worked in the University Jaume I in Castellón (Spain) since 2003, where he is Professor. He has written more than 100 research articles, most focusing on the field of applied analysis, with a main focus on micellar liquid chromatography. He has also made outstanding contributions in countercurrent chromatography and the use of ionic liquids in chemical analysis.
