About the authors

Yong Liu

Professor Liu received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science, in 2005. Then he worked at Tsinghua University as a post-doctor for more than two years. In 2011, he went to Cornell University as a visiting associate professor and worked there for a whole year. His researches mainly focus on the preparation and application of polymer and its nanocomposites. In detail, his research fields include the application of high-performance engineering plastics, performance advancement of the rubber products, recipes design and processing development of plastic products, spinning of a special functional fiber, preparation of nanofibers by electrospinning, decomposing formaldehyde at dark and room temperature, preparation of membrane for fuel cell, application and preparation of nanoparticles, drug release and tissue engineering, etc. He has published 147 articles in peer-reviewed journals and given 49 oral presentations in national and international conferences. Prof. Liu has 57 authorized patents. He was often invited to review manuscripts for more than fifty journals such as Polymer, Advanced Science, Chemical Engineering Journal. Dr. Liu is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a senior member of the Chinese Society for Composite Materials, member of the American Chemical Society and Chinese Chemical Society.

Ping Hu

Member of Expert Committee of China Plastics Processing Industry Association, executive director of modified plastics professional committee, executive director of Beijing Society of Biomedical Engineering, chairman of biomaterial artificial organ professional committee, member of MTA of clinical technology application management professional committee of China Hospital Association, and member of International Organization Engineering Association. He won five provincial and ministerial awards and the second national scientific and technological invention prize. He has published more than 200 papers and authorized 18 invention patents in journals and academic conferences at home and abroad. He is the evaluation expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the small and medium-sized innovation fund of the Ministry of science and technology, the medical device technology evaluation center of the State Food and drug administration, and the expert of the petrochemical group of the national five awards of the Ministry of science and technology.
