Description

Phytotoxicity of Organic Pollutants: Impacts and Management provides a comprehensive and up‑to‑date overview of how diverse organic pollutants affect plant physiology, growth, and development. Bringing together contributions from leading experts, the book examines the sources, environmental behavior, and biological impacts of major classes of organic pollutants. The volume highlights recent advances in understanding the physiological, biochemical, and molecular mechanisms underlying plant responses to organic pollutant exposure. It also explores plant‑ and microbe‑based remediation strategies, emphasizing their potential to safeguard food quality and ecosystem health. Phytotoxicity of Organic Pollutants: Impacts and Management serves as an interdisciplinary resource for researchers, academics, graduate students, environmental professionals, and industry practitioners working in plant science, ecotoxicology, environmental chemistry, and sustainable remediation.

Key features

  • Describes the toxic effects of organic pollutants on plant growth, development, and metabolic function
  • Integrates recent insights into physiological, biochemical, and molecular mechanisms of plant stress responses to organic pollutants
  • Highlights plant‑ and microbe‑based remediation strategies that support sustainable management of organic pollutants
