    Este manual, promovido por el Sistema Español de Notificación en Seguridad en Anestesia y Reanimación (SENSAR), tiene como objetivo servir de “ayuda cognitiva” a los profesionales que se enfrentan a situaciones de crisis tanto en el quirófano como vinculados a pacientes críticos. Este proyecto está enmarcado en la línea estratégica de SENSAR de potenciar todos los aspectos relacionados con un mejor manejo de situaciones de crisis. El contenido del libro está en consonancia con los Planes Estratégicos de Seguridad del Paciente, tanto nacionales como de las comunidades autónomas, en los que se defiende la potenciación de herramientas para un mejor desempeño del profesional, y en concreto para la divulgación de ayudas cognitivas para situaciones de crisis. El objetivo: que se alcance un alto porcentaje de quirófanos con un ejemplar colgando del respirador. Ideado para que esté presente en todos los quirófanos y espacios de atención al paciente agudo como una ayuda cognitiva que ayude en la resolución de crisis durante la anestesia o en el tratamiento del paciente crítico, el Manual de Crisis en anestesia y pacientes críticos SENSAR incorpora las últimas recomendaciones en situaciones de parada cardiorrespiratoria, en crisis generales y específicas de quirófano y el entorno del paciente crítico y listados de verificación para la prevención y el manejo de la postcrisis en capítulos de fácil acceso mediante un sistema de pestañas de colores. Cada capítulo se centra en una crisis y las acciones a realizar en la crisis, quedan resaltadas en un recuadro visible en el que se prioriza el orden recomendado para dar cada uno de los pasos a realizar.
