Description

The Alkaloids: Chemistry and Physiology, Volume III reviews the chemistry of the alkaloids.

This book discusses the chemistry of the cinchona alkaloids, alkaloids of Angostura bark, quinazoline alkaloids, and stereochemistry of the C15-lupin alkaloids. The tables of physical constants of the jaborandi alkaloids, pharmacology of the ?-phenethylamines, and synthesis of the ephedra bases are also elaborated. This publication likewise covers the extraction and industrial preparation of the alkaloids, minor alkaloids, furoquinoline group, and alkaloids of Dichroa febrifuga. Other topics include pilocarpine and isopilocarpine, veratrum alkaloids, and chemistry of the ?-phenethylamines found in plants.

This volume is a good reference for chemists and specialists conducting work on alkaloids.
