Heart & Lung: The Journal of Cardiopulmonary and Acute CareHeart & Lung, the official publication of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses, publishes original, peer-reviewed articles that advance the clinical and translational science of cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, including care delivered in acute and critical care settings.We welcome submissions that focus on improving outcomes for patients with cardiovascular and/or respiratory conditions, across the continuum of care—from hospital to home, and from prevention to advanced disease management. Our scope includes clinical research, implementation science, quality improvement, and translational studies that bridge scientific discovery and clinical practice.The journal focuses on three major, integrated domains: cardiovascular disease (such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and structural heart conditions), pulmonary disease (including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary vascular disorders), and critical and acute care, specifically as it relates to patients with underlying or primary cardiopulmonary conditions.All manuscripts must clearly demonstrate a clinical and translational impact. Basic science, animal studies, or work in cellular or molecular models without direct human applicability will not be considered. Genomics and biomarker research are welcome only if the findings have clear translational relevance to cardiopulmonary care.The journal does not consider work in rehabilitation science, psychometric scale development, or workforce issues unless it is directly linked to improving outcomes in patients with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary disease.We encourage submissions from interdisciplinary teams, across diverse settings and populations, and from researchers around the globe. Scholarship for the Care of Women, Childbearing Families & NewbornsJOGNN is the scientific journal of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. The mission of JOGNN is to advance the health and health care of women, childbearing and childrearing families, and newborns across all settings through the bimonthly publication of peer-reviewed nursing and interdisciplinary scholarship.JOGNN leads the development of nursing knowledge in the specialties of women's health care; prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care; and neonatal care by publishing articles on related aspects of nursing and interdisciplinary research, practice, and policy. Articles published in JOGNN promote diversity, equity, and inclusion and contribute to the emotional, psychological, and physical well-being of women and others throughout the lifespan, their infants, and their families at the individual, community, and population levels. Articles may focus on innovative or novel approaches to the provision of health care, global and international perspectives with applicability to practice in North America, health equity and social determinants of health, health promotion and disease prevention, evidence-based quality improvement, and health policy.The target audience of JOGNN is nurses, midwives, advanced practice nurses, other providers, and related professionals. Therefore, articles have clear implications for practice, research, and/or policy and contribute to the evidence base for the provision and development of care beyond the study setting. Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
The Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (JAND) is the official research publication of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The purpose, expressed in the mission statement, is to be "the premier peer-reviewed journal in the field of food, nutrition, and dietetics." JAND is published in both print and electronic formats and publishes pre-proof and Articles in Press (articles posted on JAND's website before the print version). Submission to JAND is open to all individuals in the food, nutrition, and dietetics profession as well as allied health fields. JAND publishes manuscripts that advance knowledge across a wide range of research and practice issues in nutrition and dietetics. Evidence-based contributions of original research; focused meta-analyses of cohort and randomized clinical trials; systematic reviews; and innovative research applications are welcome. Topics include foods and nutrients and their implications in health and disease; dietary patterns and dietary interventions; nutritional science, nutrigenomics, and medical nutrition therapy; translational research; dietetics practice and public health; nutrition epidemiology and bio-statistical applications in nutrition research; foodservice systems; leadership and management in food and nutrition systems and application to public policy; and medical nutrition and dietetics education. Food science and biotechnology submissions are welcome providing there is application to human health with relevance for dietitians. International contributions on global topics of nutrition interest are also welcome, providing there is relevance to the largely US readership and findings are placed within that context. Major trends that impact research and practice in the fields of food, nutrition, and dietetics may also be considered if placed in appropriate contexts for JAND 's readership (eg, population demographic transitions, environmental trends, health care advancements). JAND does not publish market research studies; studies that lack testable hypotheses or measurable objectives; studies that use un-validated scientific methods; sections from theses or dissertations unless systematic and rigorous in their design. JAND does not publish animal studies, studies lacking scientific rigor and quality control, studies without a control group when indicated by study design, or studies with random findings or author opinions. Abstracts that were presented at a scientific meeting do not preclude a manuscript from consideration for publication. Reviewing and closely following the guidelines will facilitate the review of your manuscript and save time for authors and reviewers. JAND follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) recommendations for clinical trial registration and requires registration of all clinical trial studies that began after January 1, 2011. The ICMJE requires registration of clinical trials in a public trials registry at or before the time of first patient enrollment as a condition of consideration for publication. According to the ICMJE, a clinical trial is defined as "any research project that prospectively assigns people or a group of people to an intervention, with or without concurrent comparison or control groups, to study the cause-and-effect relationship between a health-related intervention and a health outcome. Health-related interventions are those used to modify a biomedical or health-related outcome; examples include drugs, surgical procedures, devices, behavioral treatments, educational programs, dietary interventions, quality improvement interventions, and process-of-care changes. Health outcomes are any biomedical or health-related measures obtained in patients or participants." See www.icmje.org/about-... for a list of acceptable ICMJE clinical trial registries. Secondary data analyses of primary (parent) clinical trials should not be registered as separate clinical trials, but instead reference the trial registration number of the primary trial in the manuscript text. Please report the trial registration number (TRN) and the website where the clinical trial is registered on the author page when submitting an article.
