All CO+RE journals leverage the Current Opinion legacy-of editorial excellence, high-impact, and global reach-to ensure they are a widely read resource that is integral to scientists' workflow.Division of the subject into sections: For this purpose, the scope of Current Opinion in Toxicology is divided into seven selected, high impact themed sections:Mechanistic ToxicologyMetabolic ToxicologyRisk assessment in ToxicologyGenomic ToxicologySystems ToxicologyTranslatio... ToxicologyGeneral Toxicology (direct submission)Expertise... Expert authors, who are leaders in their field, are invited to write short review articles in which they present recent developments in their subject and provide short annotations to the papers that they think are most relevant. Comprehensiveness: There are 27 high-impact Current Opinion review journals in a range of subjects from food science to green and sustainable chemistry. Impact: In addition to a vast readership, Current Opinion titles enjoy high citations, Impact Factors, and CiteScores. Discoverability: Articles get high visibility and maximum exposure on an industry-leading platform that reaches a vast, global audience.Selection of topics to be reviewed Editors, who are major authorities in the field, are approved by the Editors-in-Chief of the journal. They divide their sections into a number of topics, ensuring that the field is comprehensively covered and that all issues of current importance are emphasised. Editors commission reviews from authors on each topic that they have selected and arrange for the peer review process. The papers are reviewed by 2 independent reviewers.Submission... Opinion in Toxicology allows two ways to submit to the journal:Invitation – in accordance with the established procedure for all Current Opinion titles, andDirect submission - authors are invited to submit directly via the submission system Editorial Manager. All submissions are subject to the standard, rigorous peer review by the journal Editors, as well as completeness and relevance check at submission to ensure high quality and research integrity requirements are met. The direct submission papers, if accepted, will be published in the General Toxicology section of the journal.Short ReviewsAuthors are asked to submit short review opinion type articles, in which they present recent developments in their subject, emphasising the aspects that, in their opinion, are most important. In addition, they provide short annotations to the papers that they consider to be most interesting from all those published in their topic over the 5 years. Original research papers and systematic reviews will not be considered. These can be submitted to the companion journal Current Research in Toxicology.Editorial Overview For invitation only sections, Section Editors write a short overview at the beginning of the section, to introduce the reviews and to draw the reader's attention to any particularly interesting developments.Ethics in Publishing: General Statement The Editors and the Publisher of this journal believe that there are fundamental principles underlying scholarly and professional publishing. While this may not amount to a formal 'code of conduct', these fundamental principles with respect to the authors' paper, are that the paper should: i) be the authors' own original work, which has not been previously published elsewhere, ii) reflect the authors' own research and analysis and do so in a truthful and complete manner, iii) properly credit the meaningful contributions of co-authors and co-researchers, iv) not be submitted to more than one journal for consideration, and v) be appropriately placed in the context of prior and existing research. Of equal importance are ethical guidelines dealing with research methods and research funding, including issues dealing with informed consent, research subject privacy rights, conflicts of interest, and sources of funding. While it may not be possible to draft a 'code' that applies adequately to all instances and circumstances, we believe it useful to outline our expectations of authors and procedures that the journal will employ in the event of questions concerning author conduct. With respect to conflicts of interest, the Publisher now requires authors to declare any conflicts of interest that relate to papers accepted for publication in this journal. A conflict of interest may exist when an author or the author's institution has a financial or other relationship with other people or organizations that may inappropriately influence the author's work. A conflict can be actual or potential and full disclosure to the journal is the safest course. All submissions to the journal must include disclosure of all relationships that could be viewed as presenting a potential conflict of interest. The journal may use such information as a basis for editorial decisions and may publish such disclosures, if they are believed to be important to readers in judging the manuscript. A decision may be made by the journal not to publish on the basis of the declared conflict. For more information, please refer to: https://www.elsevier...

  • Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences

    • ISSN: 2352-1546
Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences publishes invited short annotated reviews by leading experts on recent developments in the behavioral sciences. The journal is part of the Current Opinion and Research (CO+RE) suite of journals and is a companion to the primary research, open access journal, Current Research in Behavioral Sciences . CO+RE journals leverage the Current Opinion legacy of editorial excellence, high-impact, and global reach to ensure they are a widely-read resource that is integral to scientists' workflows.Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences takes a unique and valuable approach in designating each special issue around a topic of scientific and/or societal interest, and then bringing together leading international experts studying that topic, but from diverse methodologies and perspectives, e.g., human and animal laboratory testingsurvey and observational researchbehavioral and neuroscientific research with both healthy adults and special populationscomputati... and genetic approachesThese experts write short reviews of recent (2-5 years) developments in the topic, as well as pointing out select individual papers of particular significance. The journal is thus an important resource allowing researchers and educators to quickly gain an overview and rich understanding of complex and current issues in the behavioral sciences.Journal Content The journal consists of 6 issues per year. Four issues cover topics in the following recurring categories: Cognition and PerceptionEmotion, Motivation, Personality and Social SciencesEvolution, Development and GeneticsMethodologic... Computational and Translational AdvancesIn addition, 2 issues are allocated to Hot Topics. What Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences publishes - COBEHA distinctly publishes curated short review articles in the area of behavioral science in a Special Issue format. Each Special Issue focuses on a specific area of research with a broad appeal falls within the aims and scope of the journal. Special Issues provide an opportunity to integrate knowledge about the designated theme area from different subdisciplines and methodologies, examine previously unaddressed aspects, propose and develop new approaches, exchange perspectives, and encourage novel lines of research and debate.Expertise & the Editorial Process - The two Editors in Chief and the Editorial Board bring the depth and breadth of their experience and expertise to our journal. The Co-Editors in Chief do an initial review of unsolicited topic proposals sent to the journal and determine which should be put forward to the Editorial Board for consideration. They also work with the Editorial Board to identify important areas of research for which proposals should be invited, and to identify and vet the appropriate guest editors for each topic. The invited Guest Editors then create an author invite list, which the Co-Editors in Chief and Editorial Board review and augment to ensure appropriate coverage in topics, perspectives, and geographic and gender diversity. The editorial staff determines the suitability for review of manuscripts submitted by the invited authors for special issues. These manuscripts are then sent for external peer review by the Guest Editor via Editorial Manager. Each submission must be reviewed by no fewer than two independent experts who assess the quality, originality, and novelty of the work.To ensure thorough and fair review, COBEHA Guest Editors are not allowed to handle the review of their own contributions, nor are they privy to the referees' names or affiliations for any submission under consideration where a Guest Editor is a contributor. Guest Editors are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest for any submission, and to inform the journal Editors. The Co-Editors in Chief then determine the appropriate course of action. For additional information about the role and responsibility of Guest Editors, please review the Elsevier Guest Editor Guide.Once the issue has been compiled with all articles accepted the Editors in Chief perform a final evaluation of the articles to ensure that they are of suitable quality and that the Guest Editors have properly employed the peer review process.Discoverabil... - Articles get high visibility and maximum exposure on an industry-leading platform that reaches a vast global audience.Current Opinion and Research - Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences builds on Elsevier's reputation for excellence in scientific publishing and long-standing commitment to communicating reproducible biomedical research targeted at improving human health.
