Journal of Human Evolution
The Journal of Human Evolution concentrates on publishing the highest quality papers covering all aspects of human evolution. The central focus is aimed jointly at paleoanthropological work, covering human and primate fossils, and at comparative studies of living species, including both morphological and molecular evidence. These include descriptions of new discoveries, interpretative analyses of new and previously described material, and assessments of the phylogeny and paleobiology of primate species. Submissions should address issues and questions of broad interest in paleoanthropology. In addition to original research papers, space is allocated for the rapid publication of short communications on new discoveries, such as exciting new fossils, as well as to lead book reviews and obituariesResearch Areas Include:Paleoanthrop... work, covering human and primate fossilsComparative studies of living species, including both morphological and molecular evidencePrimate systematics and phylogeny, behaviorFunctional studies, particularly relating to diet and locomotionBody size and allometric studiesStudies in Paleolithic archaeologyTaphonomi... stratigraphical, and geochronological studies supporting fossil evidence for primate and human evolutionGenetic and paleoproteomic approaches to human evolutionPaleoecolog... and paleogeographical models for primate and human evolutionPlease see the Guide for Authors for further information.- ISSN: 0047-2484

Appetite
Appetite is an international research journal specializing in cultural, social, psychological, sensory and physiological influences on the selection and intake of foods and drinks. It covers normal and disordered eating and drinking and welcomes studies of both human and non-human animal behaviour toward food. Appetite publishes research reports, reviews and commentaries. Thematic special issues appear regularly. From time to time the journal carries abstracts from professional meetings. Submissions to Appetite are expected to be based primarily on observations directly related to the selection and intake of foods and drinks; papers that are primarily focused on topics such as nutrition or obesity will not be considered unless they specifically make a novel scientific contribution to the understanding of appetite in line with the journal's aims and scope.Research areas covered include:• Psychological, social, sensory and cultural influences on appetite • Cognitive and behavioural neuroscience of appetite • Clinical and pre-clinical studies of disordered appetite • Nutritional influences on appetite • Food attitudes and consumer behaviour towards food • Psychology and ethnography of dietary habits • History of food cultures- ISSN: 0195-6663

The overall aim of the journal is to contribute to our understanding of the organismic world from an evolutionary perspective.- ISSN: 0044-5231

Arthropod Structure & Development
The journal Arthropod Structure & Development publishes original research and review articles dealing with all levels of fossil and extant arthropod structure, morphology, and development in a comparative, functional, paleontological, phylogenetic, and evolutionary framework. Structures range from gene expression and ultrastructure to morphological body organization, including at the levels of cells, tissues, and organs. Developmental aspects comprise pattern formation, cell lineage, organogenesis, regeneration, embryology, and postembryonic development. Arthropod Structure & Development invites suggestions for special issues. Specifically, the following research areas are covered:• Exoskeleton, integument, musculature, and glands. • Sensory structures, central nervous systems, and neuroendocrine systems. • Circulatory, respiratory, visceral, and excretory organs. • Reproductive systems, organogenesis, and repair. • Embryology, pattern formation, and development. • Comparative morphology from the phylogenetic perspective. • Paleontology.A thorough and efficient peer-review system with the assistance of section editors and advisory board members of world-wide reputation will ensure that published papers conform to high scientific standards. Review articles and article series on relevant topics will be invited at regular intervals and will be subject to peer-review. Particular emphasis will be given to high quality line and half-tone illustrations. Exceptional colour plates will be printed free of charge. Supplementary 3-D and videos and other electronic addenda can be submitted with the manuscript and published on the journal's website after acceptance.- ISSN: 1467-8039

Protein Expression and Purification
Protein Expression and Purification is an international journal providing a forum for the dissemination of new information on protein expression, extraction, purification, characterization, and/or applications using conventional biochemical and/or modern molecular biological approaches and methods, which are of broad interest to the field. The journal does not typically publish repetitive examples of protein expression and purification involving standard, well-established, methods. However, exceptions might include studies on important and/or difficult to express and/or purify proteins and/or studies that include extensive protein characterization, which provide new, previously unpublished information.- ISSN: 1046-5928
