Aquatic Toxicology
Aquatic Toxicology publishes significant contributions that increase the understanding of the impact of harmful substances (including natural and synthetic chemicals) on aquatic organisms and ecosystems. Aquatic Toxicology considers both laboratory and field studies with a focus on freshwater/marine environments. The journal strives to attract high quality original scientific papers, critical reviews and expert opinion papers in the following areas: Effects of harmful substances on molecular, cellular, sub-organismal, organismal, population, community, and ecosystem level; Mechanisms of toxicity; Genetic disturbances, transgenerational effects, behavioral and adaptive responses; Impacts of harmful substances on structure, function of and services provided by aquatic ecosystems; Mixture and multiple toxicity assessment; Acute and chronic exposure; Environmental realistic scenarios; Impact of emerging substances and environmental pollutants of high actuality; Statistic... approaches to predict exposure to and hazards of contaminants. The journal also considers manuscripts in other areas, such as the development of innovative concepts, approaches, and methodologies, which promote the wider application of toxicological datasets to the protection of aquatic environments and inform ecological risk assessments and decision making by relevant authorities. Aquati... Toxicology does not publish articles that focus on the health of aquaculture organisms associated with aquaculture practices, unless these studies enhance our understanding of the potential effects of chemical stressors associated with aquaculture (e.g. pesticides use, water quality degradation) on aquatic organisms and/or ecosystems. Aquatic Toxicology does not consider articles that focus on monitoring the presence of chemicals in the environment unless these studies further investigate the impacts of the chemicals on aquatic organisms and/or ecological systems. Furthermore, studies that characterize the potential risks of contaminated fish or other aquatic food products on humans or livestock are outside of the scope of the journal.- ISSN: 0166-445X

Biomaterials
Biomaterials is an international journal covering the science and clinical application of biomaterials. A biomaterial is now defined as a substance that has been engineered to take a form which, alone or as part of a complex system, is used to direct, by control of interactions with components of living systems, the course of any therapeutic or diagnostic procedure. It is the aim of the journal to provide a peer-reviewed forum for the publication of original papers and authoritative review and opinion papers dealing with the most important issues facing the use of biomaterials in clinical practice. The scope of the journal covers the wide range of physical, biological and chemical sciences that underpin the design of biomaterials and the clinical disciplines in which they are used. These sciences include polymer synthesis and characterization, drug and gene vector design, the biology of the host response, immunology and toxicology and self assembly at the nanoscale. Clinical applications include the therapies of medical technology and regenerative medicine in all clinical disciplines, and diagnostic systems that reply on innovative contrast and sensing agents. The journal is relevant to areas such as cancer diagnosis and therapy, implantable devices, drug delivery systems, gene vectors, bionanotechnology and tissue engineering.Click here for New Editorial Instructions.- ISSN: 0142-9612

Physics Reports
A Review Section of Physics LettersThe journal Physics Reports publishes timely reviews which are more extensive than just literature surveys but normally less than a full monograph. Each report deals with one specific subject and is generally published in a separate volume. These reviews are specialist in nature but contain enough introductory material to make the main points intelligible to a non-specialist. The reader will not only be able to distinguish important developments and trends in physics but will also find a sufficient number of references to the original literature.Starting in 2025, Physics Reports will inaugurate a new "Rapid Reviews” section. Rapid Reviews are intended to be shorter reviews, which can be completed more quickly (on order three months) than regular reviews, on exciting new subjects. They are intended to reach a broader audience but go into less technical detail than a regular Physics Reports review. The target length is on order 20 pages (as opposed to regular reviews, which are intended to be more than 50 journal pages) and the reviews are intended to allow more in the way of editorializing than regular articles, which are intended to be more balanced, complete, and pedagogical. We aim to publish one such Rapid Review per month. The topics covered by the journal include but are not limited to:Astrophysics and Cosmology,Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics,Biological Physics,Condensed Matter Physics,High Energy Physics,Nanoscience,... Dynamics and Complex Systems,Nuclear Physics and Hadronic Physics,Plasma Physics,Statistical Physics.Submission of articles to Physics Reports is by invitation only; unsolicited submissions cannot be accepted. Should you feel that you have a topic suitable for publication in one of the sections in this journal, please contact our Editorial Office physrep-eo@elsevier.... , with a proposal of no more than 1000 words. You must specify which Editor should review your proposal (see Editorial Board).- ISSN: 0370-1573
