    • issn
An International Journal Devoted to Experimental and Theoretical Developments in Interfacial and Colloidal Phenomena and their Implications in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and TechnologyReview articles on any subject within the realm of colloid and interface science will be deemed appropriate for this journal. The subject matter should be treated in depth as a critical review of the current state of the subject area, including an informed opinion of the author on the topic. The manuscript should compare and contrast the ideas in the reviewed literature; and deal with the limitation of the ideas discussed. As such the articles in this journal are normally authored by the recognized experts.Articles only reporting on original research will not be accepted for publication. Both traditional topics and those of emerging science and technology are welcome. In particular, topics in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and those relating to interfacial and colloid aspects of the biosciences are encouraged. Areas of both theoretical or fundamental interest as well as those concerning industrial applications, emerging instrumental techniques, etc. are appropriate.

  • Journal of Manufacturing Processes

    • issn
Published by SMEManufacturing is undergoing major transformation due to the unforeseen challenges arising from the current trend of miniaturization, the emergence of new materials and the growing interaction between biologists and engineers to learn more from nature and living objects.Traditionall... a "top-down" approach has been used in manufacturing. Recently, engineers and scientists have begun exploring "bottom-up" approaches for manufacturing today's highly complex products. Further, these emerging processes are aimed to improve process efficiency and product quality. The aim of the Journal of Manufacturing Processes (JMP) is to exchange current and future directions of manufacturing processes research, development and implementation, and to publish archival scholarly literature with a view to advancing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and encouraging innovation for developing new and efficient processes. The journal will also publish from other research communities for rapid communication of innovative new concepts. Special-topic issues on emerging technologies and invited papers will also be published.Papers relevant to the scope of JMP include, but are not limited to, the following areas:• Meso/micro/nano fabrication, including imprint lithography. • Advanced manufacturing processes, including mechanical, chemical and thermal processes. • Welding, joining and assembly at micro and macro scales. • Rapid prototyping, rapid manufacturing and repair, stereolithography and other 3-D fabrication techniques that can use optical projection. • Advanced embossing, casting, forming and molding processes at all scales. • Continuum and subcontinuum process modeling and simulation. • Manufacturing process monitoring, control and automation. • Tribology and wear issues relevant to manufacturing processes. The Journal of Manufacturing Processes (JMP) is an official journal of SME, in cooperation with the North American Manufacturing Research Institution of SME (NAMRI/SME).
  • Journal of Environmental Radioactivity

    • issn
Affiliated to the International Union of RadioecologyThe Journal of Environmental Radioactivity provides a coherent international forum for publication of original research or review papers on any aspect of the occurrence of radioactivity in natural systems.Relevant subject areas range from applications of environmental radionuclides as mechanistic or timescale tracers of natural processes to assessments of the radioecological or radiological effects of ambient radioactivity. Papers deal with naturally occurring nuclides or with those created and released by man through nuclear weapons manufacture and testing, energy production, fuel-cycle technology, etc. Reports on radioactivity in the oceans, sediments, rivers, lakes, groundwaters, soils, atmosphere and all divisions of the biosphere are welcomed, but these should not simply be of a monitoring nature unless the data are particularly innovative.Research papers are also included which, by either experimental or theoretical approaches, aim towards an improved understanding of the behaviour, transfer and distribution of environmental radionuclides. Predictive modelling is particularly encouraged. Papers on dating methods are acceptable if they have clear geophysical or geochemical significance. Descriptions of experimental methods should be both highly original and specifically related to determination of low-level environmental activities. The journal provides a vehicle for objective, open and peer-reviewed publication and discussion of the more “controversial” aspects of environmental radioactivity, including assessments of health effects, criteria for discharge control and options for ultimate disposal of nuclear wastes. Publication in this field is also encouraged in the related book series Radioactivity in the Environment designed to complement the coverage of the journal.

  • Plant Science

    • issn
An international journal of experimental plant biologyThis journal has no page charges, publication is free of charge.Plant Science will publish in the minimum of time, reporting significant advances in plant biology as well as commissioned reviews, method papers (technical papers) and commentaries recommended by its referees in all areas of experimental plant biology with emphasis in the broad areas of genomics, proteomics, biochemistry, physiology, cell biology, development, genetics, functional plant breeding, systems biology and the interaction of plants with the environment. Although manuscripts containing large data are welcomed, they must contain functional validation.Manuscrip... for full consideration should be written concisely and essentially as a final report. The main criterion for publication is that the manuscript must contain original and significant insights that lead to a better understanding of fundamental plant biology. Plant Science is not a publication vehicle for preliminary observations, for studies that are merely confirmatory of results accomplished in other plant systems, or that are addressed only to a specialized readership. Submitted manuscripts describing studies of preliminary nature, that are merely confirmatory in scope or of limited scope and interest to the general readership of the journal will be returned without formal review. As a general policy, the journal will no longer consider manuscripts just describing the cloning, sequencing and expression patterns of gene sequences that have been identified and characterized in other plant species, expression of a protein without proper characterization of the recombinant product and native form, the isolation, purification and characterization of enzymes extensively analyzed in other plants, description of molecular markers and plant genetic diversity without any relevant biological information, cell culture and/or transformation of plant species (or closely related species) already established in the literature and basic transcriptomic approaches with no further relevant functional characterization of genes of interest.
