Information Systems
Databases: Their Creation, Management and UtilizationInformati... systems are the software and hardware systems that support data-intensive applications. The journal Information Systems publishes articles concerning the design and implementation of languages, data models, process models, algorithms, software and hardware for information systems.Subject areas include data management issues as presented in the principal international database conferences (e.g., ACM SIGMOD/PODS, VLDB, ICDE and ICDT/EDBT) as well as data-related issues from the fields of data mining/machine learning, information retrieval coordinated with structured data, internet and cloud data management, business process management, web semantics, visual and audio information systems, scientific computing, and data science. We welcome systems papers that focus on implementation considerations in massively parallel data management, fault tolerance, and special purpose hardware for data-intensive systems; theoretical papers that either break significant new ground or unify and extend existing algorithms for data-intensive applications; and manuscripts from application domains, such as urban informatics, social and natural science, and Internet of Things, which present innovative, high-performance, and scalable solutions to data management problems for those domains. All papers should motivate the problems they address with compelling examples from real or potential applications. Systems papers must be serious about experimentation either on real systems or simulations based on traces from real systems. Papers from industrial organizations are welcome. Theoretical papers should have a clear motivation from applications and clearly state which ideas have potentially wide applicability.Author... of selected articles that have been accepted for publication in Information Systems are invited by the EiCs to submit the experiment described in their papers for reproducibility validation. The resulting additional reproducibility paper is co-authored by the reproducibility reviewers and the authors of the original publication. As part of its commitment to reproducible science, Information Systems also welcomes experimental reproducible survey papers. Such submissions must: (i) apply a substantial portion of the different surveyed techniques to at least one existing benchmark and perhaps one or more new benchmarks, and (ii) be reproducible (the validation of reproducibility will result in a separate paper following the guidelines of our Reproducibility Editor). In addition to publishing submitted articles, the Editors-in-Chief will invite retrospective articles that describe significant projects by the principal architects of those projects. Authors of such articles should write in the first person, tracing the social as well as technical history of their projects, describing the evolution of ideas, mistakes made, and reality tests. We will make every effort to allow authors the right to republish papers appearing in Information Systems in their own books and monographs.- ISSN: 0306-4379

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials
The Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials provides an important forum for the disclosure and discussion of original contributions covering the whole spectrum of topics, from basic magnetism to the technology and applications of magnetic materials. The journal encourages greater interaction between the basic and applied sub-disciplines of magnetism with comprehensive review articles, in addition to full-length contributions. In addition, other categories of contributions are welcomed, including Critical Focused issues, Current Perspectives, and Outreach to the General Public.Main Categories: Full-length articles: Technically original research documents that report results of value to the communities that comprise the journal audience. The link between chemical, structural and microstructural properties on the one hand and magnetic properties on the other hand are encouraged. In addition to general topics covering all areas of magnetism and magnetic materials, the full-length articles also include three sub-sections, focusing on Nanomagnetism, Spintronics and Applications. The sub-section on Nanomagnetism contains articles on magnetic nanoparticles, nanowires, thin films, 2D materials and other nanoscale magnetic materials and their applications. The sub-section on Spintronics contains articles on magnetoresistance, magnetoimpedance, magneto-optical phenomena, Micro-Electro-Mechan... Systems (MEMS), and other topics related to spin current control and magneto-transport phenomena. The sub-section on Applications display papers that focus on applications of magnetic materials. The applications need to show a connection to magnetism.Review articles: Review articles organize, clarify, and summarize existing major works in the areas covered by the Journal and provide comprehensive citations to the full spectrum of relevant literature.Other Categories: Critical Focused Issues - consist of single articles on emerging topics of interest. Articles in this category identify problems of current interest that need to be addressed in the future in order to advance an emerging subfield of magnetism. By identifying such open issues, they focus the interest of the community to the challenges ahead. Thus, unlike review articles, this category will aim more on the future and what needs to be explored, rather than on what has been explored in the past. Of course, the articles include a review aspect in order to identify the open issues and put them into perspective. The articles need not be long, exhaustive or comprehensive. They provide the vision of the authors, who are recognized experts in the field. Readers utilize these articles to focus their thinking on future endeavors. These articles should also help to generate proposals to funding agencies worldwide. Current Perspectives - Current Perspectives consists of clusters of articles on emerging topics of interest. The articles have guest editors who formulate and manage the intellectual scope of the project. A cluster is composed of authors who represent their own perspective and who possess diverse opinions on facets of the topic. A cluster, in its totality, provides a balanced point of view, while each individual article is free to be discriminating. The articles within a cluster have invited status, the articles are typically of short-to-medium length, and the reference lists must be adequate but not necessarily extensive. The clusters are expected to focus not only on what is known, but also on what the open questions are that need to be addressed in the future. The articles should be written at a level that inspires the next generation of graduate students. The guest editors typically provide an overview article to tie the cluster together thematically. Outreach to the General Public - These are articles of a general nature that highlight the importance of magnetism and stimulate the interest of the public at large. A heightened awareness of magnetism is healthy for our field. Experts who have given public lectures will be encouraged to submit their work in order for them to reach a larger community. It will also help our readers in their own communications with the public. These articles need not be long, exhaustive or comprehensive. They provide the vision of the authors. Providing the public with the importance of magnetism and magnetic materials at a level that can be understood and appreciated will be a public service. It will also inspire a new generation of students, have a positive influence on science policy, and strengthen the case of our community in the eyes of funding agencies worldwide.- ISSN: 0304-8853

Submitted papers are typically pre-reviewed by the editor-in-chief and the handling editor. Papers generally need two or more positive review reports to be invited for a revise-and-resubmit.... policy Energy Economics publishes an eclectic mix of papers using a wide variety of methods to shed light on a range of topics. Our replication policy reflects this, and is applied in spirit rather than to the letter. We encourage the submission of replication studies. Replication studies should reproduce the key results of the original study, replicate them and extend them in a substantive way, while explaining the differences. For econometric papers, authors should provide program(s) and data set(s), plus a readme file on how to replicate each table, graph and other result. Ideally, there will be one command to reproduce the entire paper. Use of interactive software is discouraged. The readme file should identify the software and toolboxes used. If data are proprietary, the readme file should make clear how data can be obtained. For experimental and survey-based papers, authors should provide the original instructions (plus an English translation if applicable), information about subject eligibility and selection, the raw data, and any program used to analyze the data. For analytic papers, authors should provide data and programs used for the simulations (if any). Detailed derivations and proofs should be placed in an appendix. For papers using simulation, equilibrium or optimization models, authors should provide data and programs. If data or programs are proprietary, unambiguous information on the version should be provided, plus information on how data or programs can be obtained. Small models developed in-house should be provided. For large models developed in-house, a standard version should be provided together with a detailed description of the changes made for the version used in the paper at hand. Data and programs can be provided either as an appendix to the paper or as a stable link to a website. Data files should be in machine-readable format.- ISSN: 0140-9883
