Journal of Fluency Disorders is included in Medline.As the official journal of the World Stuttering & Cluttering Organization (WSCO) and recognized as the only journal devoted specifically to speech fluency disorders, the Journal of Fluency Disorders provides comprehensive coverage of clinical, experimental and theoretical aspects of speech fluency disorders, in particular of stuttering and cluttering, including contemporary and evidence-based interventions. The journal publishes scientific articles on all topics related to speech fluency disorders. Authors are encouraged to submit original research articles, review articles, methodological articles, short communications, and letters to the editor. Journal of Accounting Education
The Journal of Accounting Education (JAEd) is a refereed journal dedicated to promoting and publishing research on accounting education issues and to improving the quality of accounting education worldwide.The Journal provides a vehicle for making results of empirical studies available to educators and for exchanging ideas, instructional resources, and best practices that help improve accounting education. The Journal includes four sections: a Main Articles Section, a Teaching and Educational Notes Section, an Educational Case Section, and a Best Practices Section. Manuscripts published in the Main Articles Section generally present results of empirical studies, although non-empirical papers (such as policy-related or essay papers) are sometimes published in this section. Papers published in the Teaching and Educational Notes Section include short empirical pieces (e.g., replications) as well as instructional resources that are not properly categorized as cases, which are published in a separate Case Section. Note: as part of the Teaching Note accompany educational cases, authors must include implementation guidance (based on actual case usage) and evidence regarding the efficacy of the case vis-a-vis a listing of educational objectives associated with the case. To meet the efficacy requirement, authors must include direct assessment (e.g grades by case requirement/objectiv... or pre-post tests). Although interesting and encouraged, student perceptions (surveys) are considered indirect assessment and do not meet the efficacy requirement. The case must have been used more than once in a course to avoid potential anomalies and to vet the case before submission. Authors may be asked to collect additional data, depending on course size/circumstances.T... Best Practices section includes individual and institutional practices related to, for example, student recruitment, student advising, student retention, alumni relations, and efforts to integrate accounting practice and accounting education. These articles are typically shorter in length than Main Section (i.e., research-based) articles. While such papers do not need evidence obtained on the basis of an experimental design (e.g., pre- versus post-test comparison), some evidence regarding the value or benefit of the best practice should be included, along with a discussion of relevant costs (out-of-pocket as well as opportunity costs, such as faculty time, practitioner involvement, etc.). Finally, note that the JAEd publishes manuscripts on all topics that are relevant to accounting education, including uses of technology, learning styles, assessment, curriculum, and faculty-related issues.- ISSN: 0748-5751
Journal of Aging Studies
The Journal of Aging Studies features scholarly articles offering theoretically engaged interpretations that challenge existing theory and empirical work. Articles need not deal with the field of aging as a whole, but with any defensibly relevant topic pertinent to the aging experience and related to the broad concerns and subject matter of the social and behavioral sciences and the humanities. The journal emphasizes innovation and critique - new directions in general - regardless of theoretical or methodological orientation or academic discipline. Potential contributors are strongly advised to consult recent issues of the Journal for examples of articles that fit this mission.Further information for authors. JAL provides a forum for authors to present research findings and their practical applications and significance; analyze policies, practices, issues, and trends; speculate about the future of academic librarianship; present analytical bibliographic essays and philosophical treatises. JAL also provides special features in each issue which include information on academic library technology issues, research in international librarianship, digests of special reports, and a guide to sources and analysis of library metrics.Out of scopeJAL frequently receives high-quality and interesting submissions that are rejected due to the topic being outside the scope of the journal. JAL focuses specifically on college and university libraries. Topics related to school libraries (i.e. K-12 education, primary and secondary education) are outside the scope of the journal, unless they are explicitly discussed within the context of college and university libraries. Furthermore, topics that deal specifically with library and information science (LIS) education are also outside the scope of the journal, unless the topic is applicable to working in or the operations of college and university libraries. Articles range from studies of the chemistry of substances of use, their actions at molecular and cellular sites, in vitro and in vivo investigations of their biochemical, pharmacological and behavioral actions, laboratory-based and clinical research in humans, substance use treatment and prevention research, and studies employing methods from epidemiology, sociology, and economics.The rationale for this extensive coverage is the conviction that drug, alcohol and tobacco use/dependence cannot be understood in their entirety from a single perspective and that without an understanding of other areas of research, studies by individual investigators may be limited. The goal of the journal is to provide researchers, clinicians, and policy makers access to material from all perspectives in a single journal in a format that is understandable and which has received rigorous peer and editorial review. Addictive Behaviors
Addictive Behaviors is an international peer-reviewed journal publishing high quality human research on addictive behaviors and disorders since 1975. The journal accepts submissions of full-length papers and short communications on substance-related addictions such as the abuse of alcohol, drugs and nicotine, and behavioral addictions involving gambling and technology. We primarily publish behavioral and psychosocial research, but our articles span the fields of psychology, sociology, psychiatry, epidemiology, social policy, medicine, pharmacology and neuroscience. While theoretical orientations are diverse, the emphasis of the journal is primarily empirical. That is, sound experimental design combined with valid, reliable assessment and evaluation procedures are a requisite for acceptance. However, innovative and empirically oriented case studies that might encourage new lines of inquiry are accepted as well. Studies that clearly contribute to current knowledge of etiology, prevention, social policy or treatment are given priority. Scholarly commentaries on topical issues, systematic reviews, and mini reviews are encouraged. We especially welcome multimedia papers that incorporate video or audio components to better display methodology or findings.Studies can also be submitted to Addictive Behaviors' companion title, the open access journal Addictive Behaviors Reports, which has a particular interest in 'non-traditional', innovative and empirically-oriented research such as negative/null data papers, replication studies, case reports on novel treatments, and cross-cultural research.- ISSN: 0306-4603
