  • Economic Systems

    • ISSN: 0939-3625
Published on behalf of the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in collaboration with EACESEconomic Systems is a refereed journal publishing rigorous, policy-relevant research on how institutions, governance structures, and macro-financial policies shape economic outcomes across countries and regions. The journal’s core mission is to advance understanding of the functioning and transformation of real-world economic systems. The journal places particular emphasis on comparative, international, and system-level analysis, with a strong focus on economies undergoing structural change, integration, development, transition, or institutional reform. Contributions typically examine how economic policies and institutional arrangements jointly influence growth, stability, inequality, innovation, and financial development.Economic Systems primarily publishes empirically grounded research using robust quantitative methods, including panel and time-series econometrics, causal identification strategies, and empirically validated structural or semi-structural models. While both micro- and macro-level analyses are welcome, submissions must clearly speak to broader economic-system mechanisms rather than narrowly defined local or sectoral effects. The journal is especially interested in research addressing:- institutions, governance, and political economy;- monetary, fiscal, and macro-financial policies;- financial development, regulation, and integration;- structural reforms, globalization, and economic transformation;- inequality, innovation, human capital, and development within different institutional settings.Purely theoretical contributions are considered only when they are tightly anchored in real institutional contexts and offer clear, system-level or policy-relevant insights. Studies focused on a single country or case are in scope only if they generate findings of broader relevance for understanding economic systems more generally.Overall, Economic Systems aims to publish work that combines strong empirical standards with substantive contributions to debates on how economic systems function, evolve, and respond to policy interventions in a changing global economy.

Prospective authors are also reminded of the following essential considerations:Manus... must be thoroughly proofread and adhere to academic and ethical standards.Research should incorporate an international perspective and/or address globally relevant issues.Submissions must demonstrate substantial originality, engage deeply with recent international teaching and teacher education research literature, and have a robust theoretical grounding.Manuscript... that do not meet these criteria or the journal’s rigorous standards for impact and quality will not be forwarded for review. The following types of manuscripts will not be considered:Book reviewsEssays or conceptual papers that lack empirical evidenceFrameworks or models that are not supported by empirical data and critical analysisValidation studies that are limited to basic instrument testing without broader analytical or theoretical contributionReplicat... studies that do not clearly demonstrate originality or extend existing knowledgeReports, descriptions, or evaluations of policy or practice that lack critical and theoretical analysisLocal case studies that are not contextualised or do not offer broader international relevanceLarge-scale surveys that are not grounded in critical and theoretical analysisBibliometric or content analysesUnsolicited proposals for guest editorships or special issues will also not be accepted.
  • Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics

    • ISSN: 2214-8043
formerly the Journal of Socio-EconomicsThe Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics welcomes submissions that deal with various economic topics but also involve issues that are related to other social sciences, especially psychology, or use experimental methods of inquiry. Thus, contributions in behavioral economics, experimental economics, economic psychology, and judgment and decision making are especially welcome. The journal is open to different research methodologies, as long as they are relevant to the topic and employed rigorously. Possible methodologies include, for example, experiments, surveys, empirical work, theoretical models, meta-analyses, case studies, and simulation-based analyses. Literature reviews that integrate findings from many studies are also welcome, but they should synthesize the literature in a useful manner and provide substantial contribution beyond what the reader could get by simply reading the abstracts of the cited papers. In empirical work, it is important that the results are not only statistically significant but also economically significant. A high contribution-to-leng... ratio is expected from published articles and therefore papers should not be unnecessarily long, and short articles are welcome. Articles should be written in a manner that is intelligible to our generalist readership. Book reviews are generally solicited but occasionally unsolicited reviews will also be published. Contact the Book Review Editor for related inquiries.

Studies in Educational Evaluation publishes high-quality scholarly work that improves knowledge, theory, policy, and practice in educational evaluation and assessment across diverse educational contexts worldwide. The journal provides an international forum for research in the field of educational evaluation. Papers are expected to draw implications for either the evaluation of educational personnel and educational institutions, or for the evaluation of programs and students. Papers presenting results of validation studies without drawing theoretical and/or methodological implications for the field of evaluation, are not under the scope of this journal. The journal welcomes studies addressing evaluation across all levels of education (from early childhood to higher education), lifelong learning, and professional development and demonstrating a strong contribution of the conducted research to theory, policy and practice of the field of evaluation. More specifically, the journal encourages submissions that:Advance conceptual, theoretical, or methodological developments in educational evaluation and assessment.Examine how evaluation informs educational improvement, accountability, and policy development.Investig... evaluation practices related to teacher development, leadership, curriculum innovation, school effectiveness, and system reform.Address issues of equity, inclusion, fairness, and cultural responsiveness in educational evaluation and assessment.Present cross-national, comparative, or contextually grounded studies whose implications extend beyond a single educational setting. Contributions may focus either on a single educational context or system, or on international and cross-national settings, provided that the findings engage with broader scholarly debates and offer insights of relevance to an international audience. While Studies in Educational Evaluation recognizes the importance of measurement in educational research, manuscripts that focus solely on instrument development, psychometric analysis, or validation studies without a clear and substantive connection to educational evaluation processes, practices, or implications, fall outside the scope of the journal. • Aggression and Violent Behavior

    • ISSN: 1359-1789
Aggression and Violent Behavior is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes high-quality research syntheses, as well as quantitative empirical studies focused on a wide range of topics related to the field of aggression and violent behavior. Papers encompass a large variety of issues, populations, and domains, including child and youth violence (e.g., bullying, gang violence, juvenile offending), family violence (e.g., intimate partner violence, child abuse), violence in different settings (e.g., workplace, school, prisons), digital violence (e.g., cyberbullying, cyberhate), and different types of violent victimization (e.g., child, adult).Regarding research methodologies, research syntheses are preferably systematic reviews, including scoping reviews, evidence-based gap maps and meta-analyses. Narrative reviews and theory-building manuscripts are considered if they demonstrate exceptional value in terms of novelty and depth, and in instances where a systematic review is not feasible or appropriate. In the case of empirical studies, the logical connection between the theoretical framework, conducted analyzes and empirically based argumentation is emphasised. Longitudinal designs and representative or large convenience (e.g., resembling the population, collected in several institutions) samples are appreciated. Cross-sectional studies using cutting-edge methodology can also be considered.Manuscrip... that articulate disparate orientations will be welcomed, given that this journal is cross-disciplinary and cross-theoretical. Papers will emanate from numerous disciplines including criminology, psychology, psychiatry, education, law, sociology, anthropology, genetics, social work, ethology, and physiology. Papers describing the study of aggression in mainstream, criminal, and psychopathological populations are acceptable. Reviews of analog investigations of aggression and animal models will be considered if the contribution is likely to lead to significant movement in the field. The emphasis, however, will be on innovativeness of presentation and clarity of thinking.
