Global Environmental Change is a peer-reviewed international journal publishing high-quality, theoretically grounded, and empirically rigorous research on the human and policy dimensions of global environmental change.We examine environmental change as a biophysical, socially produced, and politically mediated process, shaped by institutions, governance arrangements, power relations, knowledge systems, and social inequalities. Environmental change refers to changes in earth systems and environments, including climate, atmospheres, land systems, biodiversity, water, coasts, oceans, and urban environments. They are driven by human activities and natural processes, are often experienced locally, but are linked to and have consequences at multiple spatial, temporal and socio-political scales. Therefore, our global focus refers not only to geographic extent, but to processes that connect local and place-based dynamics to broader regional, national, and international systems.ScopeSubmiss... should have a significant social science contribution. This entails analysing environmental change through social science frameworks, including (but not limited to) governance studies, institutional analysis, political economy, political ecology, justice frameworks, and decision sciences, as well as modelling that interrogates assumptions, values, and societal implications. We publish scholarship in geography, political science, sociology, anthropology, STS, development studies, complex system science, climate and environmental sciences, resource management, economics, public health, socio-environmental psychology, environmental humanities, and other domains relevant to the human and policy dimensions of global environmental change.We welcome qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, and spatial research, driven by social or policy research questions. Social Science & Medicine provides an international interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of social science research on health. We publish original research articles (both empirical and theoretical), reviews, position papers and commentaries on health issues, to inform current research, policy and practice in all areas of common interest to social scientists, health practitioners, and policy makers. The journal publishes material relevant to any aspect of health from a wide range of social science disciplines (anthropology, economics, epidemiology, geography, policy, psychology, and sociology), and material relevant to the social sciences from any of the professions concerned with physical and mental health, health care, clinical practice, and health policy and organization.All papers should be of broad interest to the international audience of general social science readers.The journal publishes the following types of contribution:Peer-re... original research articles (including methodological, theoretical and conceptual papers) and critical analytical reviews in any area of social science research relevant to health and healthcare. These papers may be up to 9000 words including abstract, tables, figures, references and (printed) appendices as well as the main text. Papers below this limit are preferred.Systematic and Scoping reviews (including Meta-analyses) of up to 15000 words including abstract, tables, figures, references and appendices as well as the main text. Review papers should use an established review methodology.Invited commentaries and responses debating, and published alongside, selected articles. Uninvited commentaries are not normally considered by any office.Special Issues bringing together collections of papers on a particular theme, and usually guest edited. Economics Letters aims to be a valuable addition to the specialist literature, offering quick dissemination and easy accessibility of new results, models and methods in all fields of economic research. All researchers are welcome to submit their articles to Economics Letters, and especially young researchers and advanced graduate students are encouraged to submit their articles.The "letter" format consists of concise communications, which are a vehicle to quickly communicate important pieces of new research. For instance, a theorist could submit to Economics Letters a thought-provoking example before the analysis is extended to a general theorem in a fully fledged paper that will go elsewhere. Similarly, an experimentalist or an empirical researcher could submit to Economics Letters some important preliminary results, where perhaps the threshold for robustness, thoroughness or completeness of the analysis is not as high as it would be for a complete paper. Comments or pedagogical notes are not suitable for transmission in this form.The following are important features of the "letter" format:Concise: Contributions are usually limited to 2,000 words excluding references allowing readers to determine their potential interest in a letter very quickly, and to digest a large amount of material in a usable form.Rapid: The fast review process and immediate online publication ensure a brief manuscript turnover time.Efficient: A quick way to stay up-to-date with developments in all areas of economics.All submissions that pass the desk-rejection phase will be subject to a careful peer-review process. International Journal of Cognitive ScienceCognition is an international journal that publishes theoretical and experimental papers on the study of the mind. It covers a wide variety of subjects concerning all the different aspects of cognition, ranging from experimental studies of behavior and of the brain to formal analysis.Papers will be selected on the basis of their scientific quality, their degree of innovation and their unambiguous theoretical advance to the study of cognition. Paper's overall soundness of the argument and degree of empirical motivation, especially from converging sources, are more important than adherence to specific methodological principles. Studies that selectively focus on the cognitive and neural mechanisms that underlie problems with cognition in clinical populations or on purely methodological questions fall outside the scope of Cognition. Because Cognition enjoys a wide readership from many disciplines, authors should explicitly consider the general theoretical issues raised by their work and its relevance to other topics and methods. An International Multi-Disciplinary Journal. The major focus of Behaviour Research and Therapy is an experimental psychopathology approach to understanding emotional and behavioral disorders and their prevention and treatment, using cognitive, behavioral, and psychophysiological (including neural) methods and models. This includes laboratory-based experimental studies with healthy, at risk and subclinical individuals that inform clinical application as well as studies with clinically severe samples. The following types of submissions are encouraged: theoretical reviews of mechanisms that contribute to psychopathology and that offer new treatment targets; tests of novel, mechanistically focused psychological interventions, especially ones that include theory-driven or experimentally-deriv... predictors, moderators and mediators; and innovations in dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices into clinical practice in psychology and associated fields, especially those that target underlying mechanisms or focus on novel approaches to treatment delivery. Brain and Cognition
Brain and Cognition is a forum for the integration of the neurosciences and cognitive sciences. B&C publishes peer-reviewed research articles, theoretical papers, case histories that address important theoretical issues, and historical articles into the interaction between cognitive function and brain processes. The focus is on rigorous studies of an empirical or theoretical nature and which make an original contribution to our knowledge about the involvement of the nervous system in cognition. Coverage includes, but is not limited to memory, learning, decision making, emotion, perception, movement, music or praxis in relationship to brain structure, function or development. Scholarly articles on environmental influences—social, physical, catastrophic—on aspects of brain and cognition are also welcome.Published articles will typically address issues relating some aspect of cognitive function to its neurological substrates with clear theoretical import, formulating new hypotheses or refuting previously established ones. Clinical papers are welcome if they raise issues of theoretical importance or concern and shed light on the interaction between brain function and cognitive function. We welcome review articles that clearly contribute a new perspective or integration, beyond summarizing the literature in the field; authors of review articles should make explicit where the contribution lies. We also welcome proposals for special issues on aspects of the relation between cognition and the structure and function of the nervous system.
